The RMMS Foundation Scholarship aims to support RMMS alumni in pursuing higher education or vocational training after high school graduation. This scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to deserving students who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service.
The scholarship award amount will vary based on available funds and individual financial need. Scholarship funds will be disbursed directly to the recipient’s address on the application by the end of June.
To be eligible for the RMMS Foundation Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Graduation: Must have graduated from RMMS. (Completed 5th Grade by June 2024 or completed 8th Grade by June 2028)
- Enrollment: Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited university or vocational tech school.
- Academic Achievement: Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Community Service: Must have a record of community service and volunteer work.
- Recommendation: Must submit at least two letters of recommendation from teachers, mentors, or community leaders.

Applications and supporting documentation may also be sent to the Regional Multicultural Magnet School Foundation, ATTN: RMMSF Scholarship Committee, P.O. Box 1306, New London, CT 06320. Please submit the following by April 30:
- Application Form: Complete the RMMS Foundation Scholarship application form.
- Essay: Write a personal statement (500 – 600 words) detailing the impact of RMMS in your life, your academic and career goals, and how the scholarship will help you achieve them.
- Transcripts: Provide official high school transcripts.
- Letters of Recommendation: Submit two letters of recommendation from Guidance Counselor, Teacher and/or Volunteering Supervisor.
- Release to Publish: Submit signed release to publish your picture and/or essay on RMMSF website and media channels (can be found in the application).
- Proof of Enrollment: Provide proof of enrollment or acceptance into an accredited university or vocational tech school.
Expectations of scholarship recipients are as follows:
- Academic Performance: Recipients must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Community Involvement: Recipients are encouraged to continue their community service and share their experiences with the RMMS Foundation.
All application materials must be submitted by
April 30th of the current year.
