The Regional Multicultural Magnet School Foundation was formed in 1998 to provide support for the Regional Multicultural Magnet School (RMMS), www.rmms.k12.ct.us, serving southeastern Connecticut.  The school, founded in 1991, is a voluntary desegregation program located in New London that serves kindergarten through fifth grade students.  It is currently an International Baccalaureate Authorized School.  The mission of the school reflects a strong multicultural focus, global perspectives and provides first hand inquiry-based learning experiences.

The Regional Multicultural Magnet School Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that serves the students of the Regional Multicultural Magnet School but is a separate entity.  As a 501 (c) (3), all donations are tax deductible to the extent provided by law.  All monies raised are given back to the school to support cultural and educational programs.

The Foundation raises funds through individual donations, matching grants and fundraising events.  We respond to financial needs in the RMMS community that are not covered by the school’s budget.  The process is initiated by proposals submitted by an RMMS community member on behalf of the students. The proposals are then reviewed by the Board of Directors and funded as allowed by the budget.

The RMMSF Board of Directors meets monthly, usually the second or third Monday, from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Regional Multicultural Magnet School.  All are welcome to attend.  If you would be interested in becoming a member of the Board of Directors, or serving on one of its committees, please contact the Board President at:
